Emily Dickson Poem
My snip it was "That could abash a little bird, That kept so many warm." This sentence sounded to me like this sentence represented how Kantniss had the pin with the mocking jay on that reminded her about her family back in district 12. It told her if she survives that she will go home with riches and she will bring all of it back for her family.
surviving the wilderness
In the wilderness i would take the same items that we picked, the items that we picked are a knife, sleeping bad, water bottle, tarp , and a reflective heat jacket. I would use the tarp to cover us from rain at night while we sleep in the sleeping bag. I would always were the reflective heat jacket for warmth. i would us a knife to cut branches leave, eat, if i hunt i would us it to skin the animal, and to make other tools. I would us the bottle of water for water because i can keep refiling it with fresh water from the rivers. The hardest part of surviving would be getting food to eat. the knife would help with that because, i could make snares to catch animals and i don't want to eat the one deadly berry that i thought was a blueberry.
Gender Stereotypes
Gender stereotype are generalizes conceptualizations about people based on their gender. In the Hunger games Katnis and Peeta both go against gender stereotypes. Katnis is courageous, clever, competitive, Rational and responsible. 5 out of 6 of these are traits for a male. Peeta is sensitive, emotionally expressive, muscular and strong. Most male stereo types say that they are not emotionally expressive or sensitive. Fox Face also go against the gender stereotypes. She is one of the fastest people there. According to gender stereotypes girls are not suppose to be athletic.
Hunger Games vs. The Lottery
Differences
in the hunger games you have a 1 in 24 chance of survival as in the lottery you don't have any chance. The Hunger games does their killing so they can remember the war that happened 75 years ago in panama, in The Lottery they do the killing because they want good harvest that year.
Same
They both used a ballet picking to chose the tribute. Someone dies in each story. A lot of the people are against the Games/Lottery.
